Yay!!! I really like this new really creative paneling!!!!
Sangwine is really cool in the last panel. + I know from experience how hard it is to draw that hand-pointing-sword-straight-forward position, and you pulled it off beautifully! I love the shinies on the sword and the perspective is straight As!!!!

Well, maybe it is best all the parties involved are present for this scene since Fang obviously is half-giving in to Zedwig rather than fully agreeing to abjure his reign. With that type of agreement, he would surely rebel and change his mind the second he saw Sangwine in charge. Only with a well thought out agreement to hand over the reign will everything be fully solved with Fang (at least, for a somewhat long time). That is my first take on the situation at any rate.

Neh. The best way to explain it in my mind is they are the very closest of friends. It's that person who knows what you're thinking even before you think. They know your favorite color, the name of your first pet and if you had a crush on this guy/girl since first grade. They are the first to know if your pregnant, if you got cancer, if you get a promotion or if you're moving to Spain. They are there for you even when you don't think you need it and can talk to you without bullshiting. They are rare and special people. I have one myself and she is the the most important thing in my life. It is love but not romantic.

I doubt anyone can really understand that kind of relationship without having experienced it but there it is.

I thoroughly agree with you assessment. I have a couple of those type of relationships in my life as well, but they are not romantic in the least (I nearly laughed out loud at the idea of them being romantic!).

Yikes! Sangwine's Grand Entrance completely caught me by surprise. And Zedwig's expressions are amazing.
To all the people saying bad timing... I have a hard time believing Fang was sincerely capitulating to Zedwig's plan. He may be down but he's not out yet.

I'm surprised Sangwine doesn't have a kind of, "Uhhh what's going on, guys?" moment. I think it would be pretty strange for him to come upon Fang, expecting him to be all crazy and intense, and instead he's at a pretty weak moment.

Random Sangwine insight: It's cause Sangwine's nervous as heck and he's rehearsed what he'll say again and again and again in his mind, and he's pretty much doing it by rote, regardless of circumstances and being faced with his estranged brother whom he hasn't seen for upwards of five years. His voice is probably shaking a little, much to his chagrin, and maybe he doesn't quite know what he'll do next.

These people intimidate him, being from the "older, cooler, badder crowd". Most of the people he's been working with (Kelneth, Geeves, Gaffer, etc.) last knew him as kind of a kid, the younger prince, so he has the strain of trying to prove that he's capable and grown up and ready for all of this, which he's not even sure of himself. The ultimate person he doesn't think would ever take him seriously is scary older brother Fang, to whom he has to more to prove than anyone.

awesome - thanks for the insight! i am not sure that it has to be a crazy showdown from here...i mean, fang has just agreed to surrender, hasn't he? sure, it's bad timing and if sangwine had overheard their conversation from the sidelines before busting in on things, it could have gone better, but it could still work out.

The third panel is *thrembling*. Lovely play of emotions here, you have such a way of using a multitude of means to tell the story - perspective, dialogue, facial expressions, colour. The sudden splash of red in the final panel of this greyscale page is very dramatic indeed.

*covers eyes* I can't watch. Just can't. I'm afraid this may be the final blow for Zedwig, regardless of what happens. I mean, he just finally convinced Fang (...) and here comes Sang being all nervous and heroic at the worst possible time. For Zed, I mean. Dunno about the rest. Poor Crazy-Go-Nuts Zedwig.

Kinda looking forward to the Sangwine-Fang showdown, though...wonder when Bactine is going to put in an appearance. Should be soon, I expect.

Everybody looks fantastic on this page, Colby - I love your art. Sang is especially awesome, though. : )

I've got the worst feeling about when Bactine shows up...right in the middle of the Sang vs. Fang fight, maybe something happens, and she's stuck with Zedwig-to heal him. Which is not going to be good. Even if he was sane.

I love the wonky new panels - they're extremely appealing =3
Your story progression, Isays, is wonderful.

I love their expressions in all of these - particularly Fang's resignation in the third panel - but you know what I really like, for some weird reason? xD Sangwine's left hand. I love it.
That is of course, not mentioning the sword perspective and all things else phenomenal..

WOw!! Awesome artwork :) Heh, though the way Fang and Zedwig are standing in their last panal I'm amazed Sangwine's line wasn't more along the lines of 'I have returned! Uh, am i inturrupting something?'

oh I am so proud of Sangwine right now. Kid must be scared. Well done on the sword foreshortening.
