I think that's the same logic they must use in Vampire Knight, only replace "fairy" with "pureblood vampire". The two main characters (one of which is basically the most desired guy at school) are the son and daughter of a brother and sister...and they're eventually s'posed to get wed, too. Eww...

While I put that in just to be dumb, it's true that for the elves the more inbred they are the prettier they are, because inbred elves have a more concentrated amount of fairy blood in their veins.
