Xylic is Sangwine's friend in the truest sense of the word. He wouldn't do such things. Besides, he feels equally guilty about Bactine's capture. He probably feels he must perform some type of penance to make up for it. Being humble is part of that. The other part is, of course, rescuing Bactine.

Why does Xylic want to claim stupidity? If it were me I would let Sangwine take blame for Bactine's capture, then when she was rescued I would say that while Sangwine was busy punishing himself I was busy planning and executing her rescue.

I'm sure no one has told you yet how attractive Al'bert is. No really, I'm positive. You certainly haven't heard hundreds of times. *ahem* Which is why I must emphasize the amount of swooning that went on when I laid eyes on the fourth and fifth panel. *melt* He. Is. So. ADORABLE. (Though I'm not sure he wouldn't object to being called so...)

Al'bert did that on purpose. XD I think he is still a little loyal to Fang; and therefore fancies up his tale to the point where Bactine will not know what is true and what isn't. :) Besides the fact he may have just been trying to make her laugh!
