Lint: #371 - Somehow Fang always wins, even when he loses

  • Zypher · 1 year ago
    WOW!

    See?! THIS is what I was talking about earlier!!! Bad Zedwig, bad! It's ruining my whole 'fangirl" thing- Nvm, tortured souls = major fangirling. ^^;

And poor Fang... I don't think even he deserved that... v.v

He kinda responsible for it. The artifact he uses to control Zedwig mix them together ( http://www.purnicellin.com/lint/2008/08/19/0819... ). I think that Fangline insanity ( http://www.purnicellin.com/lint/2007/10/16/1016... ) partly taint Zedwig. In the sixth panel, I bet that Fang face the dark side of himself that he puts in his puppet. Also, I doubt that Zedwig will survive really long, If the dark magic or the civil war don't kill him, his new insanity will.

Oh, those beautiful half-psychotic half-angst-bucket silver-haired mages... I think frame 6 is my favourite... just look at those gorgeous lips!
O' course, the last frame is pretty dramatically cool, too. And the clothes are awesome.

Gotta say, as much as I hate him, Fang's lookin' pretty regal on this page. And that's a mighty fine neck he's got, too. I'd steal his scarves away, too.
  • Calenlass_Greenleaf · 1 year ago
    That actually looked painful.
I didn't really think Zedwig would kill Fang--not yet, anyway. But I think he proved that he was capable of doing such, and Fang seems to realize that.

Hmm, well, now I'm anxious about the next page...

Yikes, Zedwig... speaking of 'losing one's grip'...
    That was pretty intense.

Someone needs to split these two kids up before someone loses an eye. ... or WHAT REMAINS OF THEIR SOULS, anyway.

Anyway, I just had to post because this was the first thing I looked at after I had a nap and it gave me goosebumps. --So it was either the fact that this page was executed brilliantly (especially Zedwig panel 6), or I was still tired. I choose to believe the former, because frankly, there is more evidence to support it. BECAUSE THAT PANEL 6 ZEDWIG IS CRAZY GOOD LIKE A POP-TART.

I hope Fang realizes that he's driven Zedwig to this sort of Looney-dom.

... At least Fang is now weak and unprotected. Cue random flying boulder! Take him out!

Random Flying Boulder: It's my time to shine.

(... Apparently this is how I sound when I've gotten only 3 hours' sleep... interesting.)

You know...as much as I hate Fang, I'm still feeling sorry for both him and Zedwig this page. Zedwig's emotional transitions in the last couple of panels are crazy awesome. *applauds and throws confetti* One of the best pages in a while!

i love the expression change from two to six. and then the anguish in the last panel. zedwig seems to be a little unhinged

Zedwig's psychotic expression in panel six makes me go "SQUEE!!!!" 8DDDDDDDDDDD

    ...I'm a sucker for psycho, homicidal maniacs, okay? ><;;
Which is why Fang, Zedwig, and Al'bert are my favorites......I'm so morbid. xD

It took me a while to find words for what I was feeling:

It is wrong how much I like this page.

Wow... I have to say, I think Fang's gonna be even more mental after this. After all, in Fromage, he did put a bit of trust in Zedwig. However, despite everything, in a twisted way he really did bring this upon himself.

Al;so, although panel 6 is brilliant, the sudden realisation in panel 9 makes it my personal favourite.

I think I'm a little confused. Can someone explain to me what happened in this page? And why is Zedwig freaking out so badly?
  • Lady_Nilstria · 1 year ago
Awww...poor Zedwig...the most powerful mage in a thousand years has gone bonkers...O_O
  • lizybeth · 1 year ago
If Zedwig were ready to kill Fang, he could do it before Fang could issue the command to stop. As much as he's been through, I don't think he can do it...
  • Klist · 1 year ago
Fangline looks so cute unconscious... poor Zedwig!
  • whimsical-wishing · 1 year ago
Whoa. Zedwig's eyes look similar to my cat's when she is way hyped up and see's something move, in panel 6. The only difference between them in that panel is feline-ness and elvin-ness. (are those even words?)
  • colbycheese · 1 year ago
Yes! Fang and Zed remind me of two cats I had about 12 years ago. Unfortunately, they got killed by a dog. Hopefully that's not foreshadowing.

The fact that he's done this to Zedwig just makes me dislike Fang all the more. Not that making such a kind, good-natured guy kill innocent people and (indirectly) the healers who kept him alive didn't already send Fang down to the bottom of my bad list.

It reminds me of a saying: "The biggest problems in the world could have been solved when they were small."

Why does no one ever notice the terrible little brat who decides to become a villain later on? *sigh* I blame bad parenting and video games.

i'm still wondering if they're, like, in a "relationship"... that looks very ... shall we say... intimate?
  • Kzara · 6 months ago
Most fantasy has Elves portrayed as more intimate with their friends, i.e. hugging and whatnot, than Humans tend to be. However, there's also the fact that the artifact Fang wears (As far as has been said/I can tell) allows them to read each others' thoughts and possibly give them a glimpse into the others' soul. It would seem to me that when your very soul is bared to another person, man or woman, same sex or opposite, a little something like clinging onto them or hugging isn't such a big deal.
