#440 – Upon waking
Oh yeah, this is karma finally knocking on Fangline's door... and it's gonna hit him hard.
I love the end of this page. I mean, it's just *poof* they're gone, with Sang left to be king. Yay for Sang! And personally I rather feel Fangline will deserve everything he gets.
Yeah, I want to giggle maniacally, but it's 2am, and everyone else is asleep. >.>
I think it's so funny that Fang is wearing the same expression that Zedwig used to wear on a constant basis, while Zedwig is now delightfully sinister. It's like they completely switched facial expressions. Lovely. XD
Can't wait for NaNoWiMo, Colby! :D (Or whatever it is, I forget.)
I have to wonder where you've been for the entirety of this and the last chapter (and part of the previous chapter). XD It's been messy, and -everyone- has had to fight and/or die and/or be maimed, some in messier ways than others.
On a completely different note - what is the truth pendant going to do? The crotchety wizard gave it to him for a reason (every good king needs one)! If it doesn't play an important part, could you please explain to me what it does? Thanks!
"Zedwig was less maniacal and insane than I thought. Fang's "What have you done?" implied that Zed would go on a mad rampage and do much damage to all with his newfound freedom."
Ahhh you mean in this current scene! Well, the truth is that Zedwig regained most of his sanity the instant his captivity was lifted. He still has issues, a whole lot of issues, deep-rooted trauma issues yes, and he still has a bit of loose cannon going on, but without his forced captivity to torment him, he's "feeling MUCH better, now."
As far as Fang's "What have you done!", well, who does Fang ever think about other than himself? He knew now he was going to be in deep crap and there was no longer anything to be done for it.
"Announcing that you are going to eternally torment someone also puts one on the "die" list most of the time."
He doesn't intend to eternally torment Fang. He's going to do what he said he's going to do in the last page, and eternal torment isn't part of that. Yes, I already have written the outline of exactly what he's going to do and what occurs, and it's actually rather reasonable... well, most of it. He's a reasonable person at heart... traditionally, but he's been messed with a little too long.
The pendant of truth:
It does something, and the something it does has been hinted at in the past, and will be hinted at more in the future. It's very important, but not in the way one might expect. Is that vague enough, I don't know! :D
sanguine will really have a fresh slate to start with. all his family are completely gone. he and Hope are all that remain of the old regime. i say all this because i get a lonely sort of impression from the last panel. i wonder if he was hoping that zedwig would just finish off fang and then stay there.
but panel 3 .. WOW. what a last glimpse of those two. I know Colby says Zedwig has regained most of his sanity, but what a role reversal in that panel - just look at their expressions!! I also love the disappearing portal in the last panel. Very cool.
Well done, Mrs. Purcell. Well, done.
I love how Zedwig is getting his revenge, but a little voice in my head is nagging that two wrongs doesn't make a right.
Nnnngh, am I the only one sort of scared of Zedwig at the moment?
To the point, I have a question which may or may not be spoilerish, but I'd like to ask anyway out of sheer, burning curiosity:
Do we get to see either Fang or Zedwig again before the story's end?
---- do not read below if you don't want to know ----
No.
*BUT*
This isn't the last time I'll be drawing them (just the last time in this storyline). I'm also going to write what happens from this point between Fang and Zedwig for NaNoWriMo this year (November).
Zed: Fang, fetch me that glass of kool aid.
Fang: Yes oh mighty Zedwig
Zed: *dumps it on Fang without tasting it* That is horrible. You never could make a decent glass of Kool aid could you? You are pitiful. Now, rub my feet.
Fang: Yes oh mighty Zedwig.
Zed: Ah, that's fabulous *insert evil laughter here*
Well, that's how I picture Fang's torture anyway. I think the most painful thing for him would be forced servitude; to be treated like a subordinant. hehehe...I think Zedwig is the kind of person who would pick up on things like that...
8D
and sang i mean he has to feel sorta bad for him, just a little, right? plz?
anyways, amazing!!! I LOVE the third panel!!! zed looks soooo murderous, tho... i think maybe someone lost a couple fangirls, zed!!!! (not me of course) ^-^
